Yet again we find ourselves being speechless! Yes! we won the Floral Design Category at the VOWS Awards 2011. We were absolutely over the moon to win the award this year, especially when the competition was so strong. This is the second year in four that Cherry Blossom have won the award.
We all had an amazing night at the Hilton, a massive thank you to Liz Irving at the Vows and her team, along with the Scottish Wedding Directory and all the other sponsors that made the night so specular. A few highlights of the night (apart from winning) was the Look Look Photo booth - such a great idea and lots of fun, the varied entertainment, and lastly our stunning solid plantinium (of course) trophy.
Both Jayne and myself would like to say a big thank you to all our lovely couples that took the time to vote for us.

We have some very exciting news, yesterday we found out that we have been shortlisted for the fourth consecutive year for the best wedding florist at the VOWS Awards 2011. This is an amazing achievement and we are over the moon.

Again we would like to say a huge thank you to all of our lovely couples this year that have taken the time to vote for us. The Vows Awards represents consistency and excellence in customer service and it is so reassuring to us to know that our brides and grooms are so thrilled with our outstanding service that they vote for us.
All we need to do now is find a glizty black dress for the big event on 7th nov at keep our fingers crossed. Thank you again and we really hope that one of our gorgeous newly weds wins the second honeymoon this year!
We love working with the lovely Beth at the Scottish Wedding Directory creating some bouquets for their photo shoots for the magazine. In the most recent edition we were given the theme of the girl nexts door!
Check out some of our work!

It is definately worth buying the magazine as it's on the shelves now, but I'd hurry as it won't be for long!
Well we can't actually believe that its 2011. Where did 2010 go to? This year we are kicking off the year with a stunning wedding at Dundas Castle. We couldn't ask for a more grand venue to start of the year. Looking forward to decorating all our old favourite venues this year not to mention adding in a few new ones!
Yes there are still a few venues we've not visited yet, including the popular No 29 in Royal Exchange Square. We are looking forward to decorating it, with a few booking already lined up for this year.
We had an amazing night last night at the Vows Awards 2010. A massive thank you to Liz again for putting on such a good party.
Thank you again to all our brides and grooms who voted for us this year - it really means so much to both of us!
Cherry Blossom are proud to announce a new addition to the gang.
Jayne gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl Hannah Elizabeth Sneddon on Monday 4th October 2010, weighing in at 8lbs 1oz . Both are doing very well!
While Jayne is off enjoying her wee bundle of joy and sleepless nights (though she should to be use to it us florist are always up early!) I'll be enjoying working with Kate!
Hooray! We have just found out that we have been nominated for a VOWS awards 2010 in the Floral Design category.

I know we have said it before but a massive thank you to all of our brides and grooms. The VOWS represent consistency and excellence in customer service and it is reassuring to us that our brides and grooms are so impressed with our service that they take time to vote for us.
As the winners of the 2009 Floral Design award we have been impressed at both the recognition it has brought to our business, and the importance people place in the awards as a stamp of quality within the wedding industry.
Once again the summer has been and gone and we haven't stopped to catch our breath. Can't quite believe all our summer brides and grooms are now enjoying married life and we are about to start the autumn/winter season.
Some of our highlights this summer have been:
Mount Stewart
We are now experts at getting the ferry to Isle of Bute. Despite our first trip where we started to walk off the ferry and then realised that we had to down to collect the car! It was a funny sight to see our large estate car sitting on the car deck all alone full to the brim with flowers. We had the pleasure of decorating the stunning Mount Stewart. The entire experience was fabulous and the team of staff there were so helpful.
Culzean Castle
Another new venue (to us) this summer was the amazing Culzean castle. We have previously supplied flowers for the Scottish Wedding Directory photo shoots at the castle but never a wedding. Again, a special thank you to Eileen at the castle who was very helpful with the logistics on the day.
Macdonald Forest Hills, Aberfoyle.
On possibly the warmest day of the summer we provided flowers for Lindsay and Chris at the Forest Hills resort near Aberfoyle. The sunshine brought out the best in our champagne, yellow and peach roses (check out the Gallery for some pics). Set in the Trossachs this hotel has a lovely country feel, whilst being within easy travelling distance from our base in Glasgow, I’m sure we’ll be back in 2011.
Old Favourites
As always we have had the delights of decorating our usual venues: Lodge on the Loch, Glenskirlie Castle & House, The Cruin, Oran Mor, Pollok House, Mar Hall, Dundas Castle, Dalhousie Castle, Glasgow University, Houston House Hotel, Buchanan Arms Drymen, along with many others.
Yet again we've had such a busy start to the year. We kick started 2010 with a fabulous wedding at St Andrews in the Square, Merchant City. The ground was covered in a thick layer of snow, setting the scene for a stunning "white wedding".
Later that month after lots of consultations with our future brides planning their flowers for their forthcoming summer weddings Laura finally downed tools, just in time to give birth to a beautiful baby boy - Christopher John Jardine weighing 8lbs 3ozs. Both are doing well and enjoying some time off.
We still can't quite believe it but we have recently won the Floral Design category at the VOWS 2009 awards - one of the most competitive categories with over 1000 nominations from across the country.
We were delighted at being nominated for the Vows Award for the second year in a row, particularly when this is only our third year in business! Winning this award meant so much to both of us and for the first time ever we were both completely speechless, yes I know that's hard to imagine me (Laura) speechless - but there is a first for everything.
Congratulations to all of our fellow nominees and winners.
We would like to take this opportunity say a massive thank you to all our brides and grooms who voted for us, we've loved working with you all. Secondly, we would like to thank everyone at the Scottish Wedding Directory and all the team at the VOWS Awards, especially Liz Howells, you certainly know how to organise a fabulous party.
Here's some pictures of us receiving our award in front of 500 people at the Hilton in Glasgow:

A quick news update to say a huge thank you to all the Brides & Grooms that voted for us in this years competition, we are thrilled to announce that we have been nominated & shortlisted once again for a Vows Award in the floral design category.
Now we can look forward to the ceremony at the Hilton Glasgow on the 9th of November, fingers crossed!

Hi everyone, sorry it’s been so long since we last updated our “news” section but it’s been a very busy year! We’ve had such fun working with all our lovely brides, decorating fabulous venues throughout Scotland. We keep joking that we must have visited every wedding venue within a 50-mile radius, but sure enough one always pops up that we haven’t been to!
Favourite venues this year include the regal Dalhousie Castle and the gorgeous Norton House Hotel, Edinburgh. The picturesque Cruin at Arden, Loch Lomond, the very trendy Abode Hotel and the stunning Oran Mor Glasgow. We have to say the most unusual, yet fabulous, has been Edinburgh Zoo, and just in time to see the Penguin Parade!
Not only have we been kept busy with our wedding work we have also enjoyed providing flowers for photo shoots and events. One of our favourite events this year has to be a dinner dance for BP at the exquisite Mar Hall where the brief was regal opulence, the colour scheme plum, gold and cream. Here we used stunning gold candelabra and storm lanterns decorated with orchids, roses, wax flower, berries and lush us foliage. The room looked spectacular!
On a personal note, Jayne married David in April at New Lanark Mill Hotel; a fabulous day was had by all! We have some great photos on the gallery! Jayne wanted to, say a huge thank you to all her suppliers, especially Lynne Cooper and all the staff at New Lanark, her photographer, Linda from Absolutely Fabulous, Carol from Charlotte Grace, she loved her Sassi dress! Kirsty from Fairycake cards, her make up artist Alexis Miller the extremely talented Graeme Scott for his wonderful classical guitar playing and jazz trio. Finally a massive thank you to Berketex brides for saving the day and getting her identical bridesmaids dresses after Capri Skies let her down 6 weeks before the wedding!
Other exciting news, Laura and Craig are expecting a wee brother or sister for Jack. We weren’t lying when we said we’d been busy!!
Working with the Scottish Wedding Directory is always a pleasure and we love helping them out with flowers for their shoots, we were recently involved with a Smiths Tribute night at King Tuts organised by Liz to raise funds for the Chemotherapy Day Area, Cancer Unit, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. A great night was had by all and they raised over £4000.
We are delighted to announce that we have been nominated for a Vows Award this year and look forward to the ceremony at the Hilton Glasgow on the 2nd November, fingers crossed!

What a great summer we had, apart from the terrible weather! Working with all our lovely brides has been such fun, although chaotic at times. We have been working non stop, filling fabulous venues, with beautiful flowers.
This year we have visited many venues for the first time, from as far north as The MacDonald Resort Kinloch Rannoch, Roman Camp Callander and Dunblane Hydro to amazing venues in the East, The Marine Hotel, North Berwick, The Balmoral Edinburgh, Dirleton Castle, Edinburgh Botanic Gardens, Balbirnie House, Glenrothes and the very stately Dundas Castle.
In the West we have had the pleasure of working more than once at the luxurious Hotel Du Vin - One Devonshire Glasgow, the fabulously trendy Lighthouse Glasgow, the newly renovated Cameron House, Loch Lomond and the stunning Lodge on the Loch, Luss, to name a few. As you can see we travel well!
We have had a busy start to 2008 with lots of Winter and Spring weddings. In recent months we have visited many beautiful venues throughout Scotland, some of our favourites being; Marr Hall, Renfrewshire, Atholl Palace, Pitlochry, The Prestonfield, Edinburgh, Houston House, Uphall and the new castle at Glenskirlie.
Again, this year we were involved with the Shieldhill Castle wedding fair where we enjoyed chatting to lots of brides-to-be. A big thanks to Alistair and the team, a great day was had by all!
This month we had the pleasure of designing flowers for the Scottish Premier League Awards dinner in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery. A spectacular venue! A big thanks to Lucy at World Events and Colin and his team at the Gallery for all there help.
We have been busy preparing bouquets to feature in the latest edition of The Scottish Wedding Directory (out in July). Our flowers will feature in two sections, the bridal fashion shoot and within the wedding flowers inspiration section.
Our submissions for the Bridal Fashion section include:
Our bouquet for the Wedding Flowers section features a funky contrasting mix of orange and cerise! Flowers included "poison" pink roses, mango calla lilies, cerise pink gerbera, orange dutch tulips, bearsgrass, finished with cordyline and aspidistra leaves.
We had a great time this weekend manning our Wedding Flowers stand at the Shieldhill Castle Wedding Fair, meeting plenty of brides-to-be in the luxurious surroundings.
For those that have never been before, Shieldhill Castle is a great Scottish Wedding venue. Ideally situated in the picturesque Upper Clyde Valley Shieldhill boasts fantastic views across the gardens to the countryside and hills beyond. Your Ceremony can take place in the Chapel and the reception takes place in the permanent marquee which caters for up to 200 guests.
A big thank-you to Susan for arranging the day, inviting us along and making sure everything ran like clockwork. We are looking forward to decorating the Castle with beautiful wedding flowers over the coming months!
